OUR MISSION

The Harstine Island Community Choir is a community chorus organized and operated exclusively for public music education and dedicated to performance, community service, and leadership in the arts. Our mission is to teach and perform choral works to interested persons of all ages, to participate in community service activities, and to develop and maintain public interest in vocal arts.

Music Outreach Programs

Harstine Island Community Choir is pro-active in bringing music opportunities to Mason County for people of all ages. Our mission is to teach and perform choral works to interested persons of all ages, to participate in community service activities, and to develop and maintain public interest in vocal arts. Here are some of the ways we support the choral arts through the donations we receive.

Music to Our Ears

Harstine Island Community Choir sponsors this annual music competition open to all Mason County student musicians. Students are divided into 3 grade-level groups, beginning with 3rd grade through high school. The winner in each category receives $200.00. All private and school affiliated music teachers will be notified. If you know a student musician who might be interested, please tell them about the competition as not all musicians learn of this opportunity through a music teacher. Feb. 24, 2018, at Harstine Island Grange Hall. Contact person is Jean Iverson 360-866-7012.
